Description
This is a photographic art view of Harpers Ferry in the Fall. Harpers Ferry is located at the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers where the U.S. states of Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia meet. It is the easternmost town in West Virginia. The town is known for John Browns raid and the Civil War. The Civil War was disastrous for Harpers Ferry, which changed hands eight times between 1861 and 1865. Behind and above the railroad trestle is St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church. Fortunately the church sustained little damage during the Civil War.
