Description
Apparently fishing hasn't been too good for this Tri-colored Heron, so it is time to try plan B, the sneak attack. This photo was taken at the Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge in Florida.

What a capture! I love the herons and bitterns with their sneaky approach. And such patience, followed by the acrobatics to swallow the prey. I watched a green heron having a devil of a time trying to get that huge salamander to slide down just right. LF

Great photograph! Love the title, the capture of the posture and the details of the water.
