The Sun begins to set behind the stormy clouds covering the far side of the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona offers unique combinations of geologic color and erosional forms. In addition, the lighting, tones and colors are fantastic at sunrise and sunset. The canyon is 277 river miles (446km) long, up to 18 miles (29km) wide, and a mile (1.6km) deep.
