Description
A significant portion of the Florida east coast mainland is protected by a chain of barrier islands. Although many people live and work in these areas they also are indeed a barrier that somewhat protects the mainland from the effects of tropical storms and hurricanes. This rugged looking stretch is a little south of the Ft. Pierce Inlet.

Beautiful! I've been to Ft Pierce Inlet, it's a great place to see the jetty and the occasional manatee! l/f

The tall grass and wind effect of them truly conveys the feeling of being at the beach. Wonderful! L/F
