Description
The mighty Yellowstone River is in full flowing form over this stretch of territory in Yellowstone National Park, Wyomong. The Yellowstone is the last free flowing river in the lower 48 states. From its headwaters in Lake Yellowstone downstream 670 miles to the Missouri River in North Dakota, the Yellowstone River flows unchecked. The bridge seen alongside the river is the Canyon Bridge which actually spans Jay Creek. It was built in 1914/15 replacing a wooden bridge built in the late 1800's. The bridges serviced traffic going to a built up area along the North Rim. The structures were removed as part of the effort to maintain the rustic river scene and the bridge is now used by hikers and bikers and is part of the North Rim trailway.
This photographic based artwork is an unique creation. I work with one of my photographs, using several professional digital tools in multiple steps, to create a one of a kind work of art. I call the outcome photographic art and am quite proud to include it in my gallery. Many of the photographs that I use in this process are also available in its original photographic form elsewhere in my gallery. Both these creative processes, photography and digital art, stimulate my passion and satisfy my need to create.

This capture is so inviting!! There is so much to explore in it, the rough water, the fabulous clouds, the stately trees, the small boulders, and the beautiful bridge!!

One can almost feel the the free flowing current of this river - very nicely composed with the trees framing the scene.
