Description
A flock of Black Skimmers are landing at their resting area after an afternoon of feeding in the nearby Florida wetlands. The black skimmer (Rynchops niger) is a tern-like seabird. The Black Skimmer is distinctive-looking with a unique knife-like bill and foraging technique. When feeding they fly low over the water surface with the lower mandible skimming the water for small fish. Skimmers are the only birds in the world with a lower mandible longer than the upper.

Fabulous capture John. I have to drive for an hour to see these little beauties now. Maybe next week.

I love the color contrast here which is very calming, soft, and lovingly peaceful, dear John! :)
